Jennifer Kerr

Welcome!

In the summer of 1986, Jennifer Kerr was a homeless, single mother on the streets of New York when Governor Mario Cuomo and his wife, Matilda, took a personal interest in her small family.

Jennifer promised the governor that she would change her life and never give him cause to regret the kindness he had shown her.

Now a happily married mother of six and a law school graduate, Jennifer manages millions of dollars worth of property and financial investments.

Believing that education is the single most effective tool for overcoming poverty, she has endowed a major scholarship for single parents at a four-year university and has privately financed the college educations of several single mothers in her local area.

This is the remarkable true story of the promise she made and her twenty-year quest to fulfill it.
